RYSTARS (Rotary Youth Studying Astronomy and Related Sciences) 
Normally held in Coonabarabran late in August. The dates are still to be confirmed by Siding Spring Observatory. See caledar for final date
Areas of activity will include visits to Siding Spring Observatory - the iTelescope and The Australian Astronomical Observatory (also known as the AAO and the largest optical telescope in Australia). There will be workshops on career paths and areas of study and telescope building and viewing; lectures will also focus on the work of astronomy and related sciences. The Coonabarabran Amateur Astronomy Club will assist with telescope viewing on site and there may be evening visits to either Milroy or Warrumbungle Observatories.
The four day residential program will be based at the Warrumbungle Mountain Function Centre - fully catered and accommodated with costs to be advised.
Places will be limited and  participants should be senior secondary students studying physics and/or astronomy and high level mathematics.
Invitations will be extended to Clubs and High Schools in D9650 for nomination of students .. and also to those in close proximity to Coonabarabran (Dubbo and Gilgandra and Mudgee High Schools).
