Bob has been a member of Rotary for 41 years joining the Rotary club of Dubbo West in 1974. Prior to Rotary, Bob was an active member of Apex.

Due to work associated commitments Bob has been a member of (7) seven Rotary clubs during his Rotary membership, they include: Dubbo West; Tamworth West; Quirindi; Scone; Taree North; Charlestown; Armidale North. During the years of service to Rotary Bob has held all possible Board Positions (duplicated several times), only missing 5 years of service on club boards.

Rotary District Service has been also extensive having served numerous positions with two district committees 9650 & 9670 from 1975 until the present time. Bob is the current district 9650 cluster 5 Assistant Governor.

Bob has been happily married to Margaret for 49 years. They have two adult children Jo-Anne & Matthew and (5) five grandchildren. Margaret has been an active member of Probus for a number of years, being the charter Treasurer then Secretary and President of the Valentine Probus Club, Newcastle.

Born in Maitland, raised and educated in Dubbo, Bob joined the DMR as a Junior Clerk. During his nine years of service (and numerous transfers) with the DMR he completed his PSA qualifications, Local Government Certificate, Accounting, Management and Industrial Relations.

Bob Joined GRE Insurance as a Senior Clerk elevating to the position of NSW Sales and Marketing Manager. In 1980 Bob setup his own company as a Finance, Insurance and Business Brokerage; sold this business in 1989 to purchase the freehold of a Hotel in Quirindi.
After leasing the hotel, Bob moved into the role as a hospitality Industry administrator (particularly in the Club Industry) in association with the Westpac, NAB and Commonwealth banks, to trade out or amalgamate clubs in financial difficulties until his retirement in 2013.

Bob in 2003 was invited to be a guest presenter at the NSW Law Conference on the amalgamation of registered clubs and clubs as Co-Operatives, working in conjunction with Penrith Leagues Club. In 2001 at the request of the State Minister for Racing and Gaming, Bob completed a submission for the restructuring of the Greyhound Industry in NSW.

Bob has been a very active sportsman over many years as a representative Rugby League and Hockey player and also a representative coach.

Bob’s motivation for seeking the position of District Governor was to continue his commitment to Rotary, also to work with and learn from his fellow Rotarians for the betterment of Rotary within our district.
