Neville was born on 18 July 1956 in Wauchope NSW and educated at
Wauchope Primary and High Schools before attending Sydney University
where he graduated in Economics and Law.
Neville returned home to Wauchope following his graduation in 1981).
Neville has 2 sons Jamie born 10 June 1983 and Bradley born 12 August
1985 both of whom now work and reside in Newcastle.
From July 1981, Neville worked as an employed Solicitor in Wauchope for
18 months prior to commencing employment with Hastings Credit Union Ltd
(now known as Holiday Coast Credit Union Ltd) on 28 March 1983, becoming
General Manager on 3 February 1988 after holding the position of Acting
General Manager from July 1987.
Neville continues in his role as CEO of Holiday Coast Credit Union Ltd
that serves the Holiday Coast and Maitland - Hunter Regions on the Mid
North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Neville served the credit union movement in Australia as a Director of
Cuscal from November 2002 to October 2006 following a term as Chairman
(November 2000 to November 2002) and prior to that Deputy Chairman
(November 1991 to November 2000) of the Cuscal Membership Council, which
was the nationally represented governance body responsible among other
things for the maintenance of the Values (Philosophy and Principles) of
credit unions. Neville also served as Chairman of Credit Union
Foundation Australia (CUFA) from November 1996 until November 2006. CUFA
is the body responsible for both the domestic and international credit
union development that is supported by Australian credit unions.Neville
served as a Director on the Board of the World Council of Credit Unions
June 2003 until July 2005. This International Board is the body
responsible for the development of credit unions throughout the world as
well as providing representation for credit unions worldwide.
Neville is a Rotarian through membership of the Rotary Club of Wauchope,
which he joined in October 1981. Neville has been President 1984-1985 &
2002-2003, Secretary 1989-1990 & 1997-1998 as well as holding several
Directorships of the Club throughout this period.
In May June 2001 Neville led a Rotary Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team to
D5440 Northern Colorado, Wyoming & Western Nebraska in USA.
Since that time he has served the District on the District GSE Committee
2001 to 2005, as Assistant Governor for the six Hastings region Rotary
Clubs for the 2004-2005 & 2005-2006 years, District Membership
Development Committee Chairman 2006-2007, District Club Service Director
(2007-08) and a member of the District Incorporation Review Sunset
Committee (2006-07), Finance Committee (since 2006), District
Resolutions Committee (since 2006) and District Strategic Planning
Committee (since 2007).
Patti was also born in Wauchope and is currently an Administrative
Officer with Lifeline Mid Coast at Port Macquarie. Patti has maintained
a very active interest in Netball both as a Player and Coach both at
Club, Association levels and has been a team Manager and Massage
Therapist for Representative teams. Patti is looking forward to
supporting Neville in his year as District Governor and has recently
been appointed as an Ambassador for Operation Cleft Australia.
