Donations In Kind Committee
The aim of DIK is to collect materials needed by disadvantaged communities, sort them in collection centres, pack them in containers and send them where the need is greatest.
 
Responsibilities:
T
o collect stamps for fundraising.
To collect spectacles for general usage by Eastern Region and Rotavision.
To collect and store donated material for general use by Eastern Region.
To keep a register of required items for each of our areas of activity. This will be supplied by other groups such as FAIM, PTA, RAM, SWSL etc.
To keep a register of all medical facilities in the district, ranging including hospitals and nursing homes. The register will include contact details so that when a need arises, we can easily make contact with our requests.
To keep a register of commercial suppliers who can be approached for donations of equipment and supplies, or who may be encouraged to sell items to RAWCS at a discount in return for tax deductibility.
To keep a register of transport agencies who will agree to transport DIK from the district to the Sydney depot, preferably free of charge.
To liaise with DIK Easter Region on delivery of goods to the depot and despatch.
To arrange for shipment from the district to DIK depot.
To fundraise for cost of shipping containers overseas.
To arrange for labour from time to time to attend the DIK depot.
To work with RAWCS Chairman on Rotary Foundation matching and other grant applications.
To prepare promotional material as required.
To report to the District RAWCS Committee.
